There are many things that come to mind when it comes to the spiritual guidance that I’ve received from coach Carri. Two specific ones I’ll share that impacted me and caused me to see myself and my purpose, or assignment, differently. In short, there was a time she did a teaching on the importance of a name. The importance of the name that you carry. The name that you respond to, as opposed to who you actually are, especially in Christ, etc.. That teaching impacted me so much, because I understood that day that I carry a very great name. And often times we forget that we carry such a powerful name and the way that we represent that name in our daily living, serving, and being matters. I remember in my seat and even on my drive home, just sobbing in repentance for how I’ve carried the name of Jesus. And still do, because Holy Spirit convicts us and works on our character and our heart each day. I also understand that what was attached to my name prior, doesn’t have to remain. That my name changed when I became united with Christ! So good! I love anything redemption related! The second thing that comes to mind is when she hosted a hat making gathering. In that session as we were designing our hats, which was very therapeutic in itself, we discussed the gifts that we carried, and we did an assessment that allowed us to see the five fold ministry or the gifts that we carry within ourselves that we weren’t really aware of. That was a really great assessment because there may be something that you’re running away from but it is so profound on the inside of you and it is the very thing that is going to determine how well you excel in your workspace, if you’re even supposed to be in that workspace, in your interaction with others, how you see yourself, so much more. That session has caused me to be very intentional about where I want to serve and how I want to serve, and to be intentional about knowing what my strengths and weaknesses are. It’s really important that we know that. It has peaked my interest to actually know the skill sets that I carry, the gifts that God has given me, and how I can display them in various spaces in the four walls of the church and out there in the world where we’re sent to be the light. She, in various ways, has always caused me to look introspectively along with Holy Spirit and the Word. To make sure I’m being who God called me to be, that I’m serving the way God called me to serve, and I’m receiving all that God truly wants me to receive. I’m grateful to God for her! 💚
